The SoFA Forge Scholarship


Scholarship Overview

The SoFA Forge Scholarship supports emerging creatives who demonstrate creative potential, initiative, leadership, and a strong desire to grow through design education.

Inspired by the word forge — to shape something with strength, discipline, and intention — the scholarship reflects the transformative journey of every SoFA student at SoFA Design Institute.

The program is designed for students passionate about pursuing design and committed to developing their creativity, character, and future through meaningful learning experiences.

Coverage of Scholarship Benefits

The SoFA Forge Scholarship is open to qualified students applying to or enrolled in the Fashion Design or Interior Design programs at SoFA Design Institute.

The recipients of the SoFA Forge Scholarship will receive the following:

  • Scholarship grants ranging from 15% to 50% of tuition fees, depending on the strength of the application and available slots.
  • Renewable every term based on academic performance and fulfillment of scholarship responsibilities.
  • Invitation to serve as official Student Ambassadors, representing SoFA during events, school tours, and outreach activities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Meet the admissions requirements of their chosen SoFA degree program.
  • Have a minimum General Weighted Average (GWA) of 85% or equivalent.
  • Complete the SoFA Admissions Design Test.
  • Submit the required scholarship application documents.

Documentary Requirements

Applicants should submit the following documents:

  • Completed SoFA Application Form.
  • Birth Certificate issued by the PSA/NSO.
  • Creative Portfolio showcasing selected works, creative projects, sketches, concepts, or other relevant outputs.
  • A 500-word personal essay reflecting on the applicant’s creative journey, career vision, and desire to study at SoFA Design Institute.
  • Recommendation Letter from a teacher or mentor.
  • Completion of the SoFA Admissions Design Test.
  • Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) or Certificate of Employment with compensation from parent/s or guardian/s.

Scholarship Evaluation

Applications will be evaluated based on:

  • Creative potential and originality.
  • Performance in the SoFA Admissions Design Test.
  • Interview and overall fit with the SoFA community.
  • Academic and personal track record.
  • Leadership and community involvement.

*Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a values-based interview or creative dialogue.

Scholarship Application Period

Applications for the SoFA Forge Scholarship are open from May 15 to June 15, 2026.

Applicants are encouraged to submit their requirements early due to limited scholarship slots.
