PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The Furniture Design (1-Year Program) provides focused training in furniture design, combining creative development with technical and business knowledge. Taught by experienced design and industry professionals, the program centers on two interrelated Design Studio courses where students develop multiple furniture collections throughout the year.
Supporting courses in materials, technology, representation, modeling, and furniture business help students develop concepts, understand production, communicate designs, and explore the business of furniture. The SoFA Method also provides personalized studio instruction, with a maximum of 15 students per design studio.

PROGRAM PREREQUISITE:
Students should have a foundational background in Interior Design Drafting before enrolling in the program.

OUTCOMES:
Graduates can pursue roles in furniture design, product development, manufacturing, and furniture marketing, working with design studios, furniture brands, manufacturers, or related businesses. They may also develop their own furniture label or independent practice.

This course runs for two (2) semesters, with learners having the option to choose between a Face-to-Face or Online track, depending on their learning needs and schedule.
