Introduction to Interior Design Studio 1 is a course that employs a wide variety of interactive classroom experiences, creative exercises, readings and lectures to open the doors to design thinking & the interior design process as an intellectual, creative and technical undertaking. The course is divided into 4 modules, taking the students on a journey from understanding.

Week 1: Meet and greet and Orientation
Week 2: What is Interior Design
Week 3: Design Process and Departure Points in Design the client, site, programming, historical precedents and other disciplines.
Week 4: What is SoFA Method and what are the roles of Introspection in the SoFA method process
Week 5: Elements and Principles in Design
Week 6: Human Factors in Design Proxemics, Basic Standard Measurements, Anthropometric data and Ergonomic Data
Week 7: Design Development through visual communication, Creating your storyboard with imagery and materials sketches, 2D models and 3D models.
Week 8: Creating Design Drawings
Week 9: Midterm Presentation
Week 10: Spatial Concepts
Week 11: Planning Strategies
Week 12: Understanding Ceiling Plans
Week 13: Spatial Compositions
Week 14: Wall system and elevations
Week 15: Designing sections through volumetrics and creating sectional model
Week 16: Furniture, Fixture and Equipment
Week 17: Color, Materials, and Texture for Interior Spaces
Week 18: Final Presentation
