Fashion Styling 

The course will aid students in establishing their unique fashion philosophy, and will tackle theories and facts associated with fashion styling. Specialists in fashion styling, brand marketing and television/movie styling will also be invited to speak in class to broaden the students’ understanding of the profession and the real-world industry. The course will conclude in a magazine editorial project, which most practicing fashion stylists specialize in. Classes will be taught mainly using the English language

This course runs for 1 semester or approximately 4 to 5 months.

Week 2: Evolution of fashion styling, Determining style identity and Fashion styling ethics/etiquette

Week 3: Learn how to make a portfolio and Pre-shoot intro in conceptualizing/pre-prod phase 

Week 4: Dissecting a fashion magazine in fashion terms & jargon, Fashion in magazine & editorials

Week 5: Making a fashion editorial

Week 6:  Fashion styling by the era

Week 7: Fashion Storytelling

Week 8: Midterms

Week 9: Business of Fashion 

Week 10: How to execute print ad and Advertising dos and don’ts

Week 11: How to cost properly in Fashion Business

Week 12: Introduction to Fashion Retail

Week 13: Introduction to Production Styling 

Week 14: Ethical and sustainable fashion overview 

Week 15: Styling for different types of clients and Introduction celebrity 

Week 16-17: Finals preparation and consultation

Week 18: Finals

  • Desktop/Laptop
  • Black Clear Book
  • Small Illustration Boards for Moodboards 
  • Styling Kit (Contents to be taught in class; No need to purchase bag; Will make do with what is available at home)
  • Clothes Rack (Can improvise with what is available at home)

OUTCOME:

The course aims to impart start-up knowledge on fashion styling and the industry, familiarize students with the workings of fashion as a career in the Philippines, and convey the value of good ethics and exceptional skills in the profession.
