_____
Course Outline:
DESIGN STUDIO 1: INTRODUCTION TO FASHION DESIGN
This course will introduce the SoFA Method design process that will focus on a minor and major project. Different ways of generating ideas that are focused on a specific theme will ultimately lead the student to an original design output.
BAG DESIGN & SHOE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
This course will be split into nine (9) sessions each topic. It will focus on fundamental skills in design and construction.
FASHION BRANDING
In today’s world, where technology has made it easier than ever to launch a fashion business online or complement physical stores with an online presence, not everyone can build a brand that lasts and thrives. This course was designed with that in mind—to offer a clear framework for creating a brand that can adapt to disruptions, align with practical business strategies, achieve its full potential, and be profitable. By the end of the course, students will develop the confidence to understand their business in relation to their brand—how they differ, how they intersect, and how various factors influence the ongoing management and growth of the brand as a dynamic entity.
