_____
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The Fashion Design (1-Year Program) provides foundational training in both the creative and technical practice of fashion design. It is suited for aspiring fashion designers, career changers, creatives, and hobbyists who want to develop practical skills in design and garment development.
Through two Design Studio courses, students learn to research inspiration, develop design concepts, and apply creative and critical thinking to their work. Supporting courses in fashion illustration, pattern making, sewing, and draping help students translate concepts into finished garments while building proficiency in different design and technical processes.
_____
OUTCOMES:
Upon completion of the Fashion Design (1-Year Program), graduates will have foundational skills in fashion design, illustration, pattern making, sewing, and draping, enabling them to develop and produce their own fashion pieces. These skills can support entry-level opportunities in fashion product development and design, collaboration with suppliers and production partners, work within design firms, or the development of their own fashion products and businesses. Graduates may also pursue further studies in fashion design to build on their skills and professional practice.
