In Case You Missed It: A Look Back at the Retail Design Class

This September, SoFA Design Institute’s Retail Design class—led by IDr. Oren Loza, with the expertise of Kat Malicsi-Villamayor, Window & Styling Specialist at H&M Region East Asia, and IDr. Peachy De Guzman, gave students an inside look at the fast-paced world of retail design and experiential interior design.

As part of their immersive learning experience, students brought their concepts to life by building a mock retail store in Manila at The Hub, Escolta, a creative space where design thinking met real-world application. The project challenged participants to translate visual merchandising and interior styling principles into tangible customer experiences that merge creativity, strategy, and storytelling in retail design.

The class concluded with a culminating and awarding event that celebrated innovation in retail and interior design.  Congratulations to the top awardees — Ar. Bea Paragas, Ar. John Chris Delloma, and Christine Bonifacio, for their standout work and inspired storytelling through design.
