Session 1: Introduction to Retail Design & Visual Merchandising
In this session, students explore the fundamentals of retail design and visual merchandising, understanding their impact on consumer engagement and brand storytelling.
Session 2: Understanding Consumer Behavior & Retail Trends
In this session, students gain insights into consumer psychology and emerging retail trends to design spaces that enhance customer experiences and drive sales.
Session 3: Store Planning & Layout Strategies
In this session, students learn strategic store planning and layout techniques to optimize space, traffic flow, and product placement for maximum impact.
Session 4: Retail Branding & Storytelling Through Design
In this session, students discover how design shapes brand identity and learn to craft compelling retail narratives that connect with customers.
Session 5: Visual Merchandising Principles & Techniques
In this session, students master essential visual merchandising techniques, from display composition to product arrangement, to create engaging, sales-driven retail environments.
Session 6: Visual Merchandising Capstone Project Launch
In this session, students are introduced to their capstone project in visual merchandising, where they will conceptualize and begin developing their own retail display proposal.
Session 7: Lighting & Sensory Design in Retail
In this session, students explore the role of lighting and sensory design in influencing consumer perception, mood, and shopping behavior.
Session 8: Innovative & Experiential Retail Design
In this session, students delve into cutting-edge retail concepts and experiential design strategies that transform shopping into immersive brand experiences.
Session 9: Retail Design Capstone Project Consultation
In this session, students present progress on their capstone project for critique and consultation, refining their concepts based on feedback.
Session 10: Retail Design Capstone Project Launch, Exhibition & Culminating Event
In this final session, students showcase their completed retail design and visual merchandising projects through an exhibition and a culminating event.
