Senior HighSchool General Academic Track

Aimed at nurturing curious creative minds, SoFA Design Institute’s Senior High School (SHS) General Academic Track (GAS), offers aspiring creatives the requisite dexterity and know-how to stand out and excel in the study of humanities, social sciences, economics, and community management. This SHS strand, unlike others, enables students to become design thinking leaders, elevated social strategists, analytical contributors and creative communicators.

The GAS strand is primarily designed to enrich students’ learning experience by exposing them to a mix of complementary subjects from various disciplines. Coupled with our distinct teaching pedagogy called the “SoFA Method'', our GAS program aims to train well-versed professionals in the areas of society, culture, politics, and public management with creativity and design thinking at their core. This versatile approach to teaching this DepEd-compliant program offers young creatives the opportunity to build their career on more flexible and personalized foundations.

Students of this program will be trained in the subjects of Humanities, Social Sciences, Applied Economics, Organization and Management, and Disaster Preparedness to enable them to develop critical cognitive skills in decision making and creative problem solving. Furthermore, our GAS students will have the chance to enrich their knowledge and understand the social impact of arts & design in global cultures and society through different design electives that they can personally choose from throughout their program.

Lessons are taught through the SoFA Method —a systematic educational process which encourages participants to build beautiful yet practical solutions to issues ranging from the personal to the global.

With the SoFA Method, our program is delivered in a pioneering modular format, unique to SoFA SHS. To increase student engagement and concentration, term subjects are delivered in two separate modules. With only 5 - 6 subject areas to concentrate on for each module, instead of the usual 10 - 12 subjects in the traditional curricular format, SoFA students are able to gain more in-depth knowledge and insight through this distilled quick-fire format. With fewer subjects to focus on at any one time, students are able to perform to the best of their ability, while affording our faculty the capability to hone their skills further at a more personalized level.

With each class section kept to only a maximum of 15 students, we ensure the highest level of quality in lesson delivery and assessment.

For 2nd Semester S.Y. 2022-2023, this program will be delivered through the SoFA C.R.E.A.T.E. (Collaborative Remote Experience through Art and Transformative Education) Program and through on-campus lectures.
